Social Networking for Educators

Page history last edited by Mrs. Train 15 years ago

This can be a HUGE list!  Some sites are general purpose while others feature a specific subject such as Visual Art or Special Education. Formats can differ from forums to internet lists or real-time chats. Amazing!

General Sites:

TappedIn - An amazing site!. Register for free, then build yourself a classroom page. Once you set your location and time-zone, check out the calendar and partcipate in all kinds of real-time chats about a myriad of educational topics. The TappedIn Summer Festival is one of its best features.  See a group you like, but missed a chat? Check out the archives. You can also add your students and hold real-time chats with them, as well! The only drawback is that multimedia and documents can only be uploaded and stored as files, so there are no embedded galleries or videos.

Classroom 2.0 - A fabulous ning group that discusses how web 2.0 technology can be integrated into various areas of the curriculum. There are many offshoot groups organized by subject matter and interest.
